How to choose the right image format
JPG is usually a good choice for photos and screenshots where small file size matters more than perfect preservation. PNG is better when you need sharp edges, transparency, or repeated edits. WebP is useful for modern web delivery because it can produce smaller files while keeping visual quality high.
The safest workflow is to start from the original image, pick the format your destination requires, and then inspect the result before replacing the source file. If the destination is a website, WebP and optimized JPG often help performance. If the destination is design or documentation work, PNG may be easier to keep accurate.
Utilido image converters process files locally in your browser, then offer a download. Files are not sent to Utilido for the convert step. For a longer walkthrough, read the blog post on choosing PNG, JPG, or WebP.
GIF and ICO inputs are treated as still-image conversions unless your workflow confirms animation behavior. Zoom into edges and transparent corners after every download.
